Thank you for your interest in joining the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets! We are the SCV organization’s competitive, Open Class drum corps as well as the primary training ensemble for the 6-time DCI World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard. Below, please find information about our upcoming auditions, schedules and expectations.

AUDITIONS

Brass, Colorguard and Percussion performers are encouraged to attend the full-weekend combined Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets clinics on November 23-25 and December 14-16 held in Santa Clara. For potential new members, this is a chance to learn the fundamental Santa Clara Vanguard approach to playing, marching and movement. For returning members, these clinics are the perfect opportunity to sharpen current skills and challenge yourself to acquire new ones.

Our selection process is a progressive one that includes two audition clinics and two workshop rehearsals:

No one is expected to handle everything at first, so don't get discouraged. What's most important is that you have a great attitude, drive and willingness to learn during the course of the audition process! All three sections for the 2008 corps will be finalized immediately following the January 13 workshop rehearsal.

Below you'll find specific audition procedures, rehearsal schedules and expectations for our Brass, Colorguard and Percussion sections. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

Again, thank you for your interest in the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets. We look forward to seeing YOU at auditions to start your experience of a lifetime!
